Adobe Photoshop Elements (6-Week)
Lean how to use Elements as your own digital darkroom and bring out the best in your photos. Instructed by an Adobe Certified Photoshop Expert. Class size is limited to 10 students to ensure personal attention and a hands-on experience. From importing to exporting, color correcting and contrast.
Class Requirements: A laptop (Mac or PC) that can be brought to class, Adobe Photoshop Elements software, and (recommended book) Getting Started with Adobe Photoshop Elements (all available for purchase at Apertures.

Adobe Photoshop CS3 (6-Week)
Learn image-editting skills for photographers in this powerful new version of Photoshop. New tools allow for amazing control in perfecting your images. Instructed by an Adobe Certified Photoshop Expert. Class size is limited to 10 students to ensure personal attention and a hands-on experience.

Digital Photography 1 (6-Week)
Experience a new comfort level with your digital SLR. Topics covered during the six weeks include metering for proper exposure, apertures settings, shutter settings, depth of field, white balance, filters, composition and flash photography. This course can include one field trip (contingent on weather). |
Digital Photography 2 (6-Week)
Spend six weeks combining the skills you developed in the Digital Photography 1 course with practical application. This will class will expand your skills with more advanced assignments and techniques, including custom white balance and additional menu options. |
Digital Photography 3 (6-Week)
This class is designed for photographers who want to learn further advanced digital techniques, post-processing of images, high dynamic range and stylizing. |
Film Photography 1 (6-Week)
Make the most of your picture taking as you discover the ins and outs of your 35mm cameras. This class will cover the basic know how of camera operation including aperture settings, shutter speeds, depth of field, filters, and flash photography. This course can include one field trip (contingent on weather). |
Film Photography 2 (6-Week)
You will explore different film types including black and white infrared, various Fuji and Kodak color print and slide films. You will experience cross-processing techniques. These classes are customized specifically to the needs of the group. |
B/W Darkroom Techniques 1 (6-Week)
You will learn about darkroom equipment, materials, processing, contact printing, enlarging, different film properties, spotting, and mounting. Prerequisite for this class is Basic Film Photography. |
Introduction to Studio Lighting (6-Week)
Learn how to make your photos look more professional using studio lights and accessories. This course is an introduction to portrait, product, and specialty situations. You will experience hands-on studio shooting with 35mm and Digital SLR cameras.

Wedding Photography (4-Week)
Learn the techniques of how to take a formal bridal portrait. Students will have the opportunity to photograph a "mock" wedding during the class. Taught by an experienced wedding photographer.

Photojournalism Photography (6-Week)
This class will teach you how to effectively capture the moment. Ethics and style will be topics, as well as event photography. |
Pet Photography Workshop
Whether they are cute or ferocious, you want to immortalize your pet on film. Topics include props, lighting, posing and tips & tricks for better pet photos. |
Photographic Hand Tinting
Transform your black and white photographs into gorgeous hand tinted prints using Marshall pencils and oils. It’s fun and easy. We’ll show you how! Prints and supplies are included in class fee. |
Polaroid Transfer
Create one of a kind artwork of your favorite 35mm slide…artistic expression, unlimited creativity, innovative ideas. Attend a fun and exciting two-session workshop to learn the techniques of transfer art. Workshop includes a “how to” session, hands-on training and creating your own emulsion and image art transfers. |
Computer Skills for Photographers Workshop
Digital images are different than negatives, which means there are some new skills that must be mastered. Topics covered in this workshop include downloading, organizing, burning back-up CDs, e-mailing, resizing and cropping your images. Long term storage and resolution are also discussed. |
